Director Prakash Jha, Known for hard-hitting social dramas, is ready with his next venture. The trailer of his next film Chakravyuh about the complex Naxalite problem was unveiled recently at Cinemax Versova (Mumbai) and has received an enthusiastic response the video already has 246,648 views on Youtube says Jha. While Jha's Aarakshan, a film on reservation of seats for backward sections of india an the privatistion of education, that released last year did not set the box-office on fire, he is topic about the fate of chakravyuh, yet another complex film.
"The two friends in the film. Adil khan (Arjun Rampal) and Kabir (Abhay Deol) who are police men, are not fighting over a woman. they are fighting over the rights of the lot of disenfranchised people."according to him, the film drawn from the published reports on the subject and yet, it is not a documentary. Om puri's charactor, for instance, is insparied by Naxal Leader Kobad Gandhy. it has to engage the audience so the battle being waged (by naxalites) has been dramatised says the director.
Adding that the story, quite like Namak Haraam, finding its roots in Becket- a play about Henry II and his protege thomas Becket, a Common man, who the king deputes Archbishop of Canterbury in order to penetrate the clergy. Becket, however, turns against his mentro, the king. Abhay deop reprises the role of the kabir, a friend of Arjun Rampal and also a policeman who penetrates the Naxalite cadres and them turns over the theirside.
Jha, who has the script since 2003 turned it into a movie because he had a year's time between Aarakshan and his next film Satyagraha with Ajay Devgn. Sinece devgn as busy wrapping up his home production son of Sardaar, he went ahead with Chakravyuh with Abhay Deol, Anjali Patil, Arjun Rampal, Esha Gupta, Kabir Bedi, Manoj Bajpayee and Om puri.
He is quite satisfied with their performances putting in that both Rampal and deol have done an exceptional jobn. he was also generous in his praise of the new telnet in the film, primarily actresses Anjali Patil and Esha Gupta. The film releases on October 24.
