Note enters India; to sell for R 34,990 from next week of Samsung India Galaxy

The Samsung Galaxy Note was launched in India in at a price tag of Rs 34,990, and will be available for purchase from next week.
Sporting a giant screen size - the biggest yet for any smartphone- the Galaxy Note had made its global debut at the Galaxy Note at the IFA 2011 event in Berlin, Germany. The Korean tech giant has categorised the device as neither a smartphone nor a tablet PC, but in an entirely 'new category of product'.

The Android 2.3(Gingerbread) device from Samsung has a 5.3-inch WXGA (1280 x 800, 285 PPI) display, which is bigger than that of most smartphones currently available in the market, but smaller than the 7-inch or so screens that tablet PCs mostly come with.
The gadget's most interesting feature is its stylus- the 'S Pen'- that allows users to scribble messages, write notes, compose documents and sketch drawings directly on the screen.
The S Pen is combined with a full touch screen. The company claims the phone has the most advanced pen-input technology, which includes functions like 'pressure sensitivity, preciseness, speed and more', and allows users to compose notes 'with increased accuracy and ease'.
Just 9.65mm (0.38 inches) thick and weighing 178 grams, the device comes with an 8MP camera, a 2MP front camera, 1.4 GHz Dual core processor and super HD AMOLED display.
Wi-fi enabled, the smartphone has 16GB internal memory, which can be extended up to 32GB on microSD.
Samsung is promoting the Galaxy Note as being the first in a "new category of product, developed through Samsung's deep consumer understanding and insight."
The 'Galaxy Note World Tour' in Europe by Samsung was streamed live from the event at Battersea Power Station in London, and could be viewed in India from 11:30 pm on November 3.
