Dia Mirza Fined by Customs Officers in Mumbai International Airport

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza was on Saturday fined over Rs. 1 lakh for carrying undeclared items worth Rs 2 lakh upon her arrival at the international airport here , a senior customs official said.
The actor landed at the airport at around 2am from Bangkok by a Thai Airways flight. She was passing through the green channel (used by passengers not having any dutiable good to declare) when she was stopped and aksed show her baggage, “ he said. During checking, the actor was found carrying undeclared items like branded purses and cosmetics worth Rs 2 lakh. This amounted to duty evasion. The official added.
Mirza was asked to pay a find of over Rs.1 lakh. She was allowed to go after she paid the amount, he said. The 30 year old model turned actress claimed she was not aware of customs rules about dutiable goods and did not intend to evade duty. The official added.Mirza is the latest film personality to land in trouble over declaration of dutiable goods. Last year Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba, among other film and Television personalities, were detained at the airport after they were found carrying undeclared goods.

BMW Mini Brand debuts in India with 4 Models
The BMW group launched its iconic mini brands in India with four models priced up to Rs 31.99 lakh after having decided against such a move in the past.
The company has introduced four variants of the mini. While the mini cooper wll be priced Rs 24.9 lakh, the mini cooper s comes with a price tag of 29.9 lakh.
The mini convertible is priced at Rs. 29.99 lakh, while the mini cooper S Country man has a price tag of rs. 31.99 lakh.
The BMW group has earlier planned to bring the car to the country by 2009 but shelved the plan on account by 2009, but shelved the plan on account of market conditions. The country’s Largest car market Maruti Suzuki India said it sis set to launch multi –purpose vehicle Ertiga by end of March this year The new seven seater compact MPV was unveiled at the 11ht Auto Expo.
“We would like to start the sale of this car as quick as possible, but possibly, the commercial roll out would being by end of March or beginning of April this year, “ Maruti Suzuki india manager Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters. Without specifying the price of the new car, the company said, “it will be attractively priced.”
The company would manufacture the new car at this its plant in Gurgaon.
With Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki will step into the Utility Vehicle (UV) segment and effectively create a new compact MPV segment in India. According to an estimates provided by the company, the utility vehicle segment accounts for around 14 present of the India automobile industry and 66 percent of these are MPV, with new this car, the company will for the first time introduce K14 VVT 1.4 litre engine in India. The car will also be launched in diesel variant.
The company claims that fuel efficiency of the diesel variant (1.3 litre DDiS Super Turbo) with fuel efficiency of 20.77 Kmpl.
Two New Cars launched by General Motors

General Motors (GM) on Friday unveiled two new vechicles under Chevrolet brands that will be launched later this year in india.
The Chevrolet sail premium hatchback and Chevrolet MPV concept are the first two product from GM’s joint venture with shanghai Automotive industry corporation (SAIC). “The MPV (Multi Purpose Vechicle) will be launched in India by the end of this year and this hatchback will be commercially rolled out by june-july this year,“ Genral Motors india Vice president corporate affairs P Balendran said at the ongoing 11th Auto Expo here.
When asked if the GM is planning to expand capacity of its Talegaon plant he said, “ we would consider expanding that plant but it will depend on market conditions. On the first of the auto show, GM showcased two latest variants of multi Utility vehicles.

Bollywood Clans Bury the Hatchet

We know there are two blueblood Bollywood families that do not see eye to eye. The kapoors and the bachchans have had distinctly strained relationship ever since the engagement between junior B and Karisma Kapoor was inexplicably called oof so much so that karisma ‘s little sis kareena has not even shared screen space with abhishek Bachchan after the break-up. Yet at a recent function in Mumbai jaya Bachchan was espied warmly greeting her once would-be bahu Karisma.
Apparently, Mama Bachchan hugged Ms kapoor and exchanged pleasantries. Was the formidable Mrs. Bachchan just beings here own sweet self or have the two families finally kissed and made up? We can’t wait to find out.
