Contant To Screen India : The name of my character in Ajab Gazabb Love is Madhvi Singh Chouhan. She’s a kind and free-spirited girl working for an NGO, who despises the rich and stands up for what is right. It is this very quality that leads to a series of comical situations.
Casting Coup
I was shooting for a South Indian film when my manager called me informing me about this movie, and well, the next thing I know is I’m in a meeting with Vashuji (Bhagnani) and auditioning for the role.
Stepping Stone
Prior to Ajab Gazabb Love, I have acted in several Kannada movies. I have done quite a few television commercials as well for brands like Fair & Lovely, Sunsilk, Nescafe and Nokia amongst others.
First Shot
My first scene in the movie was one of the most difficult I have shot for. It was an emotional moment, in which I am supposed to be crying in front of Kirron Kher. I remember stepping into Mehboob Studios all nervous and anxious. Kirronji was a great help, she encouraged me and made me feel at ease.
Stumbling Block
Hurdles? Surprisingly, none at all. Shooting for this film was like a breeze, the environment on set was fun and even though it sounds clichéd, we were like one big family and I hope the camaraderie will show on the screen as well.
Lessons Learnt
This movie has taught me the importance and value of team effort. It is very important for a team to have fun and bond together. That’s how working in this film was. There was no overwhelming sense of hierarchy and everyone put in their best. It is not an actor’s film or a director’s film, it’s about the entire team as a whole.
Matinee Idols
Mr Bachchan, without a doubt! He is such a disciplined person and humble, in spite of all that he has achieved. It was one of his tweets that inspired me the most, where he was talking about a difficult scene he had to shoot the next day— reading it was like a testimony of his humility. I really hope I can imbibe some of his qualities.
Future Projects
Nothing really, There are a few scripts which I’m reading. I want to wait for the movie to release before I sign any other film. Besides acting, I would be pursuing my passion for singing as well.
