The Bombay High Court recently directed the state and government to file a reply to a petition and raises the issues of the controversial anti-islam film Innocence of Muslim.
The petition has been filed by a local congress member Ameen mustafa Idrisi, who said the film has hurt the religious feelings of Muslim through its depiction of prophet Mohammed.
'The film has evoked sharp reactions, including violent protest, across the world after it released on the Internet. The petition seeks action against google and YouTube under sections of the IPC and the Information technology Act 2000.
the directive came after public prosecutor Revati Mohite-Dere told the court that an FIR has been filed in the case and investigations are on. Dere also noted that several sites has been blocked and in some cases recommendation has been received from the cyber cell of the police. the case has been kept for hearing after two weeks.
